JUST LISTEN: Ten Eighty Trees – Casual Habits
Ten Eighty Trees – Casual Habits
Words: Sammy Sadler
It’s no secret that I love Ten Eighty Trees and I’ve adored their anthemic rock tunes since I first listened to them back in 2018. Bordering slightly on the emo elements that I first attracted me to bands like 30STM, Ten Eighty Trees have me reminiscing back to the days when I wasn’t quite an emo but I wasn’t a rock chick either.
I was a big fan of the outfit’s single Lip Service back in February and I have to say that latest track Casual Habits is even better.
Boasting thick, piercing bass lines and boisterous percussions to make up chunky, chaotic soundscapes, Casual Habits is what I’d consider to be a HUGE alt-rock track with modern post-punk influences running throughout. The delicious concoction of intense patterns that soar and bounce off either lay a landscape of what is sure to be a soundtrack to some serious moshpits live.
Can’t wait to catch these guys at Hit The North on Sunday, I’ll make sure I’m ready for a party.
