Just Listen: Peaness – Kaizen

Peaness – Kaizen

Words: Clare Hingley

Rewind back to Chester, 2013 and Peaness were just beginning their journey down the indie-pop paved road.

Jess (bass/vocals), Rach (drums) and Balla (guitar/vocals ) have released their latest single Kaizen, taken from the Japanese word meaning ‘change for the good’.

This song is a fun, upbeat, very poppy vibe from start to finish that leaves you wanting more. The video for this must be checked out as well with its cute references to retro video gaming, movie and mainly Japanese pop-culture.

With a strong bouncing baseline and a melody throughout that captivates, this song is perceived to be more happy than it should, with bassist Jess describing the story behind the lyrics as being “scared and confused with the world as it currently is”.

Go check out the song, video, band, everything! And if you`re still yearning, they are on tour in the UK starting at the end of the month which includes their biggest UK performance to date at The Lexington (London) in early May.
