Just Listen: Vistas – Sucker

Vistas - SuckerVistas

Sucker

Words by Ashleigh O’Neill

The Scottish trio, Vistas, have returned with the first single, Sucker, setting the sound for their long-awaited debut album which is set to be released later this year.

The love song repeats about being ‘head over heels in love’ and ‘I’m a sucker, I’m fool and I’m in love’. The repetition of these lines makes it another catchy release for the band and reinforces the message of the song about falling in love with someone, with the highs and the lows of the song sounding reminiscent of those of the emotions felt when you are falling in love with someone.

Their songs are always, festival ready, sing along tunes and Sucker is unsurprisingly no
different to that, in keeping with the sound that we know and love from Vistas. With slight rock influences incorporated through the track it has a slightly nostalgic sound throughout it, but the catchy pop sound is still the main theme throughout in their classic style.

Sucker is arguably one of their best releases to date, putting the expectations for their
forthcoming debut album pretty high, I can’t wait to hear what else they have to offer.
