JUST LISTEN: Tom Joshua – Knock On Hollow

Tom Joshua – Knock On Hollow

Words: Clare Hingley

Stockton-on-Tees singer/songwriter Tom Joshua released his second single of 2020 Knock On A Hollow recently, another addition to his debut EP Undergrowth that’s set for release later this year.

He has been in good company having worked closely with producer Cam Blackwood, who helped produce both of George Ezra’s hit albums.

Knock On A Hollow has a story right from the start. Joshua has said the song is about someone who is playing drums in a flat among a parade of shops. Not the best story to start a song off to but trust me, it gets better.

I like the way this songs starts; the first beat has you wondering where this song is going to take you, but also Joshua has a very distinctive voice which flows perfectly with the changes of mood. I can’t help but hear Jack Johnson vibes whilst listening to this.

I’m definitely looking forward to the EP later this year.
