In my terribly over-inflated opinion, Dream Wife are quite possibly the best band on earth.  In fact, I love this band so much that it feels me with the fear every time a release is announced.  Is this going to reach my expectations?  Are other people going to like it?

Hasta La Vista has surpassed my expectations without a sideways glance at them.  Whereas I was prepping myself for another rock rocket like Sports, Dream Wife have created a song that showcases their flourishing musicality and takes your mind on a journey that is reminiscent of old favourites.  There is a hint of The Kinks wrapped up in the guitar sounds, and Rakel’s voice reminds me of the playful elegance of Cyndi Lauper on Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.

It is not just catchy and pleasurable, there is almost a pastoral vibe to Hasta La Vista.  I think that it may soon be taken as given that Dream Wife are the best band in the world.
