Slithering out of the murky depths of lockdown comes this debut single, King Cobra, from the Leeds power psych rock trio Magick Mountain. An engrossing, opening riff shifts swiftly into top gear and takes you on a potent and compelling ride into the psyche of what this band is all about.

King Cobra manages to showcase all the elements of what it takes to create an arresting heavy psych rock band sound – gargantuan riffs, distinctive and impassioned vocals, energetic and propulsive musicianship – they refreshingly show a side of rock music that, in my opinion, needs to be heard more often from UK bands.

As a taster for their debut album to come, this is a strong and solid introduction to a band who are apart a recent scene buzzing with garage rock bands and Popped is sure to keep an eye on it!
