Original Sin

Words by Gary Lambert

Original Sin, the first release from Ovvls‘ forthcoming debut album sees the electro-goth duo expand their musical horizons to show off a more psychedelic and cerebral style to their work.

The gothic element of Ovvl’s sound seems to have matured into a tense, brooding horror film turning a hallucinogenic trip towards a wild ride of darkness and threat.  With vocals reminiscent of the beautiful mystery of Grace Slick and a drumbeat akin to the tightening of a belt to provide illicit pleasure, Original Sin feels joyous and dangerous, so very dangerous.

Undoubtedly Original Sin is a track for the nocturnal; for those who come alive as the rest of the world goes to sleep; for those who seek pleasure in the dividing line between right and wrong.
