Just Listen – Scarlet – Wrong Way

Scarlet

Wrong Way

Words: Elena Katrina

Liverpool’s Scarlet is fronted by the very talented Jessie Robinson whose vocals are instantly recognisable from the first word on Scarlet’s latest offering, Wrong Way.

As one of the North West’s best DIY rock outfits, their sound has grown ever maturer over the years and Wrong Way goes further to showcase the band’s talents as a whole. All the classic elements are here but with a freshness and a crispness which belies their current DIY circumstance.

With the instrumental break toward the 4-minute mark, I can close my eyes and imagine being in a crowd watching this being performed with hundreds of people all leaping around, before joining Jessie once more on the chorus. The energy is felt and I need to see this live. Soon.
