Eades – Present in the Moment

Words: Amy Butcher

Gut punching you as soon as the track starts, Eades’ Present In the Moment is a modern post-punk song; full of high energy, fast paced guitar riffs and a distorted, lo-fi quality that ties the whole thing together.

Hailing from Leeds, the quintet have already developed a buzz for their sound in 2021 after the release of Former Warnings Cluster earlier this year and the latest single sets the tone for what is to come from Eades

Oozing subtle influences from the likes of Sonic Youth and tones akin to new wave and garage rock, the listener is given a real musical present in this track (pardon the obvious pun). One thing to rate about this song is how the writing and production is done in such a way, that every time I listen I notice something else hidden within the melodies.

This is one of those records you’ll never tire of and will be a sure hit within the mosh pits once live music is alive and kicking again.

Eades is a band I’ll have on repeat for the rest of the year, their music is just so bloody good!
