JUST LISTEN: EUPHORIA – VLURE

VLURE

Euphoria

Words by Gary Lambert

VLURE have the potential to be one of the greatest bands in British music history. Honestly, I type that and feel there is not a drop of hyperbole in that. The potential that these Glaswegian rave punk warriors have is stratospheric. If you have yet to see them live, I beseech you to buy a ticket for a breathtaking night of musical adventure, but in the meantime you need to listen to Euphoria, the title track of their debut EP.

Euphoria is breathtaking and beautiful, delicate yet dangerous. Each time I listen to it I feel something new in the pit of my stomach or a connection is made in the back of my mind to another musical genius. Ennio Morricone soundtracking Once Upon a Time in the West (End of Glasgow); Pet Shop Boys’ Suburbia of deprived social housing; the sunrise through a kitchen window as a night out refuses to die both celebratory and fearful.

This is your Euphoria.
