Just Listen: Natives – Chasing Lions

Some songs just have impact on the first listen and Native’s first track in over a year, Chasing Lions, has had just that. Musically interesting, I love the tribal elements; vocals and percussion which completely give a musical hot and hazy lion ridden scene, kicking up dust as it goes. It gives a real musical unity between the sounds and lyrics while still very much keeping a huge dollop of indie pop sensibility. This is an interesting lyrical concept for a song too – and I have to say I’m loving it. While I don’t like comparing bands, I have to say that if you like Bastille you might just want to give Natives some love too!
