If you were around in Liverpool during 2008-2010 you may well remember Jen as the energetic front woman of electro pop band Soft Toy Emergency. You might just well remember them anyway as they hit up venues all across the UK, including playing sets at Glasto and Reading&Leeds and were quite good at catching people’s attention, mine included.
Since they disbanded in 2010 Jen has spent time working on music projects and defining her own style and sound and we’re pleased to introduce you to Jennifer Davies; all new, all singing and all dancing electro pop princess. Her debut EP A Lapse Of Time was written and recorded with The Wombats’ Tord – an influence that is hinted at from time to time on the EP.
Not just content with working on her own material Jennifer is so engrossed with a love of music she spends time listening out for new bands- she recommends you gets your ears around Broods, Haerts and Saint Lucia. As well as checking out the new she’s also just at home drawing parallels with her own music and what’s been before. So much so she came to the conclusion that she could combine sounds and lyrics from Madonna’s Ray of Light and her own track Lapse of Time and came up with so much more than your average mashup (check it out below).
