Introducing: White – Future Pleasures

whiteHaving only formed in 2014 and having only played their first live shows back in February this year, Glasgow’s White are doing pretty damn well for themselves already. They’ve had several gigs since some of which have includes shows for The Great Escape Festival and Dot to Dot Festival.

Leo Condie (Vocals), Hamish Fingland (Guitar), Chris Potter (Guitar), Lewis Andrew (Bass) and Kirstin Lynn (Drums) are the five young men that make up White. They all share a real passion for similar bands, such as Franz Ferdinand and also Orange Juice but happily admit they also draw influence from the likes of Gang Of Four and Roxy Music. Their early shows all sold out immediately, no mean feat for any new band on the block. Now they are set to release their debut single, Future Pleasures through RCA on July 5th.

Future Pleasures is a track that definitely sets out the band’s influences with a real guitar feel and phrasing that is reminsent of Franz Fedinand though there’s also the 80s vibe that comes from that love of Roxy Music. It’s a big sound and it builds quite fantastically until it sets itself alight. I’m excited to see what else this band has up its sleeves.
