Just Listen: Eat Fast – Sand Drone

Eat Fast

Words: Gary Feeney

eat fastEat Fast set a fairly high bar for themselves with their previous single Public Display of Affection, but their follow-up to that, Sand Drone, is more than up the same standard. Both released last week as a double-A side (the band’s first physical release on a limited vinyl run), Sand Drone picks up where the former left off, seemingly intent on burning themselves into the listener’s ears and minds with a blast of fuzzy, relentless guitars and distorted vocals which sounds better the louder it’s played.
Displaying the same lyrical sharpness and wit as its predecessor, Sand Drone is a further statement of intent from a band aiming for the top – with more new music scheduled shortly along with their place on the immense Kendal Calling bill, 2017 looks set to be a big year for the band.
