We never write about covers on Popped, like, ever, but sometimes you hear something that doesn’t even sound like it’s a cover, as if the track was written exactly for the new artist singing it. I wasn’t expecting to ever hear Meadowlark take on a Sugarbabes song, or that I’d be writing about it. Katie’s uber fragile and haunting vocal combined with, the now twinkling, re-arrangement pulls on the heartstrings and is so beautiful, how could we not share it? I’m a big fan of this band and this rework of About You Now has just given me another insight to them.
