Just Watch: RedFaces – Wise Up

Words: Gary Lambert

If I had not seen RedFaces in action, I would be starting conspiracy theories of them being a cartoon band or Milli Vanilli for the modern era. I mean it is not right that a band can drop Wise Up as their second ever release and it sounds such a perfect piece of indie pop music. Were these kids taught how to make delicious guitar hooks in the womb? There are bands who play to thousands every few weeks who still can’t find such a perfect path through whimsy and ballsy, to sounding so big and yet so unchallenging. Finally we are seeing a true legacy from Britpop as bands are once again not being afraid to make music that people will enjoy without begging them to like it. You’re going to have red faces if you don’t get on to this right now.
