Just Listen: Tom Walker – Blessings

Tom Walker

Words: Nick Bewes

I’m not going to mess about here, I love this song. The title track from Tom Walker’s recent five track Blessings EP has a chilled vibe to it, while showcasing his brilliant voice. The track is superbly produced by Jim Abbiss who has worked with Adele, Arctic Monkeys, and Kasabian in the past and he has kept it fairly basic, with acoustic guitar and a simple beat which helps to show off Tom’s amazing voice. A voice which soars, especially in the last third. If I had to compare Tom’s voice to someone , it would be a more soulful Maverick Sabre. He’s recently headed out for live dates in May, and I suggest if he is anywhere near you in the months to come, you should take a look at a star before he breaks big.
