Just Listen: GRDNS – Roulette Love Gun

GRDNS – Roulette Love Gun

Words: Samantha Sadler

Bradford psychedelic outfit GRDNS have released their new track ‘Roulette Love Gun’ and if you’re a fan of Tame Impala, you’re going to love this.

Brimming with hazy beats and atmospheric vibes, ‘Roulette Love Gun’ starts off as a chilled out banger but soon transforms into an explosion of colour and heavier instrumentals. Cosmic pop notes bleed through reverb-laden riffs and there’s a definite nod to a rockier edge with the introduction of crashing percussions.

Vocalist Jacob Lyons switches between falsetto and a smoky murmur as he dreamily tells a story of love and longing. A chaotic outro of piercing guitar lines closes the track off perfectly and leaves you scrambling for the replay button.

Funky, contagious melodies and a blend of breezy psychedelic undertones against a rockier backdrop staple this as a sure summer favourite.
