For those who haven’t got to grips with you yet – please introduce yourselves: 

We’re Little Brother Eli. We’re mostly from the countryside. We mostly play music to dance to. Our guitars often don’t sound like guitars.

How did you all meet and what is it you saw in each other to decide to start a band?

Alex +  Josh = teenage rock band together.
Teenage band broke up. Years passed. Wrote some songs together, listened to The Raconteurs, decided to make a new band. Looked for good musicians to join. Didn’t know any, so Adam and Benji joined later.

What do you see as being your biggest challenges ahead as a band? 

It’s tough to get heard in this noisy world. So just trying to get people to listen to our new songs, is the main objective. Which is why it means so much us to have the support from platforms like Popped Music.

What have been your highlights as a band so far? 

Common People Festival.
Sold out hometown Oxford show at O2 Academy.
Reeperbahn Festiva (Germany).
Radio 2 + Radio 6 Music plays.
(And of course, Smithdown Festival in Liverpool)

What do you do to ease the boredom of long journeys for gigs?

We have exhausted all our own funny stories, so now we’ve started to go back to the beginning and retell the best ones like a highlights reel.

We also have a very silly clapping game which is generally distracting for the driver.

What are your pre-show rituals?

Alex has a sirening vocal warm up which makes people look at him funny, so we like to find somewhere quiet normally to avoid stares.
