Just Listen: Cape Cub – Moonglow

Cape Cub – Moonglow

Words: Samantha Sadler

North East-based Cape Cub have been turning heads for a while now and with good reason! Their uplifting indie pop tracks have raked in millions of Spotify plays and their live shows are packed out with adoring fans.  Having started as a solo project by frontman Chad Male, Cape Cub has grown into one of the most exciting acts to come out of the North East recently.

I’m pleased to report that their latest single Moonglow is a melodic masterpiece. Retaining much of what we love about Cape Cub, there’s an introduction to bigger drums and explosive choruses drenched with optimism. Soaring synths and delicate keys play their part against a backdrop of jingly riffs and dramatic percussions as Male’s voice repeatedly rings out “like a moonglow.”

Perhaps more poppier than we may be used to from Cape Cub,I’d expect this to be a festival anthem towards the end of the summer. And if this is what we can expect from the five-piece in future, I’m already excited to hear their next release.
