Just Listen: Cassia – Replica

Cassia – Replica

Words by Gary Lambert

Well it seems that with the release of ‘Replica’, we have now reached the point where a band from northern England can drop a track that sounds like debut album era Vampire Weekend covering Musical Youth’s classic ‘Pass The Dutchie’.

This could be one of the high points of humanity like the first person to melt cheese or getting Sky+. Despite the ear-catching singing of “I remember stormy weather… Manchester city frozen over”, reminiscences of winter are unable to take hold due to the mellow summer vibe that saunters out of the speakers to your dancing shoes.

In fact, you could put this on repeat and save yourself some money on the heating bills. Economic and suitable for a good kitchen disco session, what more do you want?

Well if you do want more, there is an album coming up in a matter of days.
