JUST LISTEN: The Modern Strangers – Magic Hour

The Modern Strangers – Modern Hour

Words: Amy Butcher

Now I have to admit before reviewing this song that I had never properly listened to The Modern Strangers and it’s safe to say they’ve got me hooked. Magic Hour takes you on an electronic, disco-pop journey and it’s a magic 3 minutes (see what I did there?).

Kent brothers Max & Archie Davenport fuse funky bass lines, BeeGees-esque harmonies and intrinsic melodies to create a track that hits all the right spots musically. If you were to Google ‘guitar pop’, you’d find Magic Hour; it merges every instrument in a perfect balance of guitar and synth.

If their live shows and latest release are anything to go by, I cannot wait to see what’s in store for The Modern Strangers this year.
