Just Listen: The Lottery Winners – Hawaii

The Lottery Winners – Hawaii

Words: Elena Katrina

This isn’t at all what I remember from when I saw The Lottery Winners play live back in May this year. To be fair that’s maybe because what I remember the most was their lead singer being unsure if he was a stand-up comedian or lead singer of a band – two things he does equally brilliantly. Hawaii is a track that pulls in the classic indie ingredients adds a smattering of fizz and then dances all over your ass.

The bass in this for me is almost the star of the show, oh my god does it make me want to stand up where I am right now and just dance all over the shop – and I am in a shop, of sorts. That’s not to say the rest of the gang isn’t bringing their tricks to the party – they are – of course, there’s a whole cocktail to be had here and it’s a fruity little number.
