Just Listen: October Drift –
October Drift
Oh The Silence
Words by Nicholas Jacques
Touted for great things this year, October Drift emerge out of the new year slumber to deliver the new single, Oh The Silence, from their upcoming debut album Forever Whatever, due for release on 25th January 2020.
On this evidence their sound is perched firmly in Echo & the Bunnymen territory. With the singer’s vocal capturing Ian McCullough’s anthemic musings sublimely. Murky and uplifting; this is an appropriate tonic for these times to help tide us over until we hit our stride in Spring.
Indulge yourself with some heavy rock, shoegaze vibes. If this track is anything to go by then surely their album will also will rise to the occasion too. I predict October Drift’s year will be anything but quiet! Expect Popped to be there and watch them rise through the ranks impressively this year.
