Dead Celebrities

Words by Amy Butcher

When I first heard Easy Life we’re dropping an E.P. I couldn’t contain my excitement. Having loved their single ‘Earth’, I’d been itching for more intoxicatingly chill vibes I get when I listen to their music.

‘Dead Celebrities’ opens with static sound as singer Murray’s vocal and light keyboard notes are added to the mix. Immediately I find myself smiling as his serene voice effortlessly comments on the darker side of 21st century fame. It’s at this point the already addictive track launches into the perfect blend of funky bass lines, intrinsic guitar melodies and just the right amount of groove in the drum beats. You’re basically listening to the music version of a Camomile tea – relaxed and zen.

I’m thoroughly impressed with ‘Dead Celebrities’ as well as the other tracks on Easy Life’s EP ‘Junk Food’. I cannot wait to see what they will be bringing to 2020!
