JUST LISTEN: Glass Peaks – Never Really Left

Glass Peaks – Never Really Left

Words: Amy Butcher

Kent band Glass Peaks have released one hell of a corker in new single Never Really Left ahead of their Debut EP It’s Raining On The Wrong Side of The Window out in May.

A commentary on the toxic landscape social media has become, the trio give you intricate melodies, ferocious riffs and impactful drum beats throughout. My favourite part of the song is when the bridge kicks in, engulfing you in a heavier, grittier sound until the song finishes.

Speaking on the single, Alfie Jefferies (vocalist, bassist) explains: “There’s a huge, delusional, false pretence that exists on the internet. Never Really Left is written about how I can now look at that with different eyes. It’s a sarcastic song, I feel even in the vocal delivery you can tell that.”

I feel Glass Peaks have made their mark with this latest offering, and it makes me excited to see what they have in store for us with their debut EP.
