Just Listen: Little Comets – American Tuna

Little Comets – American Tuna

Words: Sammy Sadler

Little Comets are fantastic aren’t they? With each track they release you know it’s going to be the right amount of indie-pop to get you dancing and lyrics that you’ll have stuck in your head for days.

Latest single ‘American Tuna’ sees the band’s sound echo the style of earlier work such as ‘In Search of Elusive Little Comets’ and ‘Life Is Elsewhere’ and I for one am thrilled!

Opening on a retro almost Beach Boys-esque amalgamation of melodic keys and sunshine riffs, ‘American Tuna’ really is a delight from start to finish. Simplistic, catchy lyrics that’ll have you singing along after the first listen and an instrumental that’s impossible to listen to without a stupid grin on your face, this is exactly what Little Comets do so well. Oh and the video is absolutely brilliant.

Massive round of applause for the Tyneside sweethearts, you’ve knocked it out the park yet again.
