JUST LISTEN: SYFTA – Breathe

SYFTA – Breathe

Words: Amy Butcher

Widnes four-piece SYFTA have released strong debut single Breathe – a loud track packing a powerful punch.

Launching straight into invasive vocals and brash drum beats, the song is intense from the start until it reaches the chorus before dropping into a serene silence as vocalist Harry sings Breathe; a brilliant musical representation of feeling overwhelmed and taking a moment to calm down, relax and keep going.

Frontman Harry Whiston explains “I wrote Breathe about when things start to go wrong. A few events can start to pile up and I just wanted to highlight the importance of looking at the bigger picture.”

Having already supported The K’s sold out Manchester show at O2 Ritz and their own headline shows in the next month, SYFTA may have only just got things started but they’re coming in hot to the music scene – I cannot wait to see what this band will bring to 2020.
